Summer Reading 2020!

June 1st to July 31st

The Summer Reading program at the Santa Cruz Public Libraries is for all ages, from birth to 100+. Read and complete activities to earn virtual badges, books, and raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes. You can sign up for a Beanstack account any time. Imagine Your Story Summer Reading Program sign ups begin June 1st.

How it works:

This year we will be using a program called Beanstack to keep track of Summer Reading Program participation. With Beanstack, you can log your reading minutes and activities online or with the Beanstack Tracker app on a smart phone or tablet. If you participated in our Summer Reading Program last year, then you probably already have a Beanstack account. We will also be offering a paper reading log for those who would like to keep track of their reading offline. For a full set of instructions, see the document "Program Instructions - English" on the Quick Links side bar menu.

All types of reading minutes count:

  • Read print materials such as books, graphic novels, magazines and newspapers
  • Read E-books and other online resources
  • Listen to audiobooks
  • Read to or be read to by someone else
Activity Badges:

In addition to reading, there are 10 activities you can complete to earn additional raffle entries.
