Noll & Tam Architects has completed value engineering and design development for the Capitola Branch Library. The City of Capitola approved the design at its regularly scheduled meeting on September 28, 2017.

Library staff has begun work on a plan for closure in Spring 2018 that will include transfer of collections and staff, temporary expansion of hours at Live Oak and Aptos branches, a surplus furniture and book sale, programming at Capitola Mall during construction, and transfer of patron accounts to other locations.

At the same meeting, the Capitola City Council approved an MOU with the Capitola Friends group who will run a capital campaign through the City of Capitola and the Community Foundation. They hope to raise over $400,000.
