State Approving Agencies provide review, evaluation and approval of quality programs of education and training under State and Federal criteria. Santa Cruz County Veterans Services Office   The Santa Cruz Veterans Service Office is a State and County funded agency, established in 1946 to assist veterans, military retirees, and their families in obtaining benefits earned by military service.

Workforce Santa Cruz County Full Service Career Center at Watsonville   One-stop shops for an array of services for employers, employees, job seekers and providers of educational and career counseling services. Veterans who are interested in going back to school using Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funding can contact the center.

California Department of Veterans Affairs   The California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) works to serve California veterans and their families. With nearly 2 million veterans living in the State, CalVet strives to ensure that its veterans of every era and their families get the state and federal benefits and services they have earned and deserve as a result of selfless and honorable military service.

California State Jobs Veterans' Preference   If you are currently competing in a State civil service examination for which Veterans’ Preference will be granted, you will automatically be added to the top rank, provided your application for Veterans’ Preference is approved before the eligible record is created.

CalVet College Tuition Fee Waiver for Veteran Dependents   The College Tuition Fee Waiver for Veteran Dependents benefit waives mandatory system-wide tuition and fees at any State of California Community College, California State University, or University of California campus.

State of California Employment Development Department Services for Veterans   The Employment Development Department (EDD) assists veterans and their eligible spouses to maximize their employment and training opportunities. VA Work Study Program   The VA Work-Study Program is available to any eligible veteran or their dependents who are receiving VA education benefits and attending school three-quarter time or more. Vietnam Veterans of America San Jose Chapter   Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), Inc., the only Congressionally Chartered National Veterans Organization devoted exclusively to Vietnam and Vietnam Generation Veterans, was founded in 1978 and received its Congressional Charter in 1986. Swords to Plowshares   Founded in 1974 by veterans, Swords to Plowshares is a community-based not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides needs assessment and case management, employment and training, housing, and legal assistance to approximately 3,000 veterans in the San Francisco Bay Area each year.
