Happy Earth Day!
We are celebrating Earth Day! Plant some native wildflowers and encourage native bees around our neighborhoods.
Wildflower seed packets are available at all open branches on April 22nd in celebration of Earth Day.
Children
can grab a bag with soil, seeds and a coloring sheet. Recycle your own
container or plant them out in the ground. We have additional seed
packets and information about wild native bees for Adults.
The
seeds are donated by One Square Foot, an initiative of the World
Wildlife Fund and Air Wick Scented Oils. They are part of the My Garden
of a Thousand Bees program.
Earth Day is an annual event celebrated around the world on April
22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First celebrated
in 1970, it now includes events coordinated globally by the Earth Day
Network in more than 193 countries.
