The Live Oak Branch Library will close for renovations beginning August 22nd. The last day the branch will be open for service is Saturday, August 21st.
The last day to request materials for hold at the Live Oak Branch is August 12th. The last day to pick up materials on hold for you there is August 21st. After that, anything on hold at the branch will be sent to the Capitola Branch for pickup. To change the pickup location to a different branch, log into your account online, call 831-427-7713, or email elibrary@santacruzpl.org.
The drive-up book drop will remain available during construction to collect your returns.
The renovations, funded by Measure S, revitalizes the children's area, transforming it into an ocean themed learning space. Improvements include a new acoustic wood ceiling and wall treatments, carpeting, and redesigned seating. A custom designed wall will serve to separate the children's collections from an "under-the-sea" inspired reading lounge and homework room. Design by Jayson Architecture.
Instructions for changing hold locations
- Log into your account.
- Select the "Requests" link to open the Requests screen.
- Use the tick box(es) to select their titles on request.
- Click the blue "Change Pickup Location" button to select a new pickup branch.
- Your default pickup location can only be reset by creating a new request.
- From the title in the catalog, select the Place Request link:
- You can choose their pickup location from the dropdown menu.
When you change the pickup selection, an option to click in the box beneath the dropdown to change the default pickup location will appear.

Para cambiar ubicación de materiales solicitados
- Inicie sesión en su cuenta en línea.
- Seleccione “Solicitudes”.
- Use las cajitas para seleccionar los títulos solicitados.
- Haga clic en el botón “Cambiar ubicación de recogida” para seleccionar otra biblioteca.
- Solo puede cambiar la ubicación de recogida predeterminada procesando una nueva solicitud.
- Desde el título en el catálogo, seleccione el enlace “Hacer Solicitud.”
- Puede escoger su biblioteca de recogida del menú desplegable.
Cuando cambie la ubicación, la opción “¿Usar siempre este lugar de retiro?” aparecerá bajo el menú desplegable.
