National Voter Registration Day
Thousands of Americans need to re-register to vote each year if they moved, changed their name, changed their political party, just turned 18, have recently become a U.S. Citizen, have not voted in the past 4 years, or just completed probation (in CA).
SCPL is one of thousands of national, state and local organizations participating in National Voter Registration Day. These partner organizations will coordinate hundreds of National Voter Registration Day events nationwide and leverage #VoteReady in all social media platforms to drive attention to voter registration and the upcoming election.
National Voter Registration Day is celebrated annually on the 4thTuesday in September. National Voter Registration Day is endorsed by the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) and the National Association of State Election Directors.
All curbside service locations will
have paper voter registration forms available during each
branch’s regular operating hours to facilitate voter registration, enabling
people to register with ease. We're also here to help those who want to register online and aren't sure how. Visit https://nationalvoterregistrationday.org/register-to-vote/
Started
in 2012 for the presidential election, National Voter Registration Day is
designed to create an annual moment when the entire nation focuses on
registering Americans to exercise their most basic right—the right to vote.
