Description: The 4-H Youth Development is to help diverse young people discover and develop their potential and grow into competent, contributing, and caring citizens. Learn by doing activities, youth-adult partnerships, and research-based educational programs help young people enhance their leadership abilities and develop a wide range of other life skills.

Youth obtain these skills through participation in programs that focus on healthy lifestyle education, plants and animals, science and technology, communications and expressive arts, citizenship and civic education, personal development and leadership, consumer and family sciences, environmental education and earth science, and through volunteer and professional development. The audience of the 4-H Youth Development program includes diverse groups of youth, volunteers, professional staff, University faculty, community collaborators, as well as public and private partners. 4-H Youth Development takes place during school enrichment programs, through the development of community clubs, through special interest projects and programs, at school-aged child care facilities, at camps, as well as through independent study in rural, suburban and urban settings at community, regional, state, national and international levels.

ELIGIBILITY: Youth membership is available to young people ages 5-19, and adult volunteers 19 and above are welcome as well.
Programs: School enrichment programs; community clubs; special interest projects and programs; school-aged child care; camp experiences; independent study; distance learning.
Meetings: Community Club meetings are in various locations: Corralitos, Felton, Green Valley, La Selva Beach, Scotts Valley and Soquel. Please call or check website for details.
