Lead Poisoning

A condition that occurs in acute or chronic forms which is caused by the ingestion of paint, cosmetics or other products which contain lead. Symptoms of acute poisoning include a metallic taste in the mouth, burns in the throat and stomach and later abdominal cramps and prostration. Chronic poisoning is characterized by anorexia, nausea, vomiting, salivation, anemia, the lead line on the gums, abdominal pains, muscle cramps and pains in the joints.
