| Description: | Redwings Horse Sanctuary is a 501 (3) non-profit located in Lockwood, California in the central coast area between San Francisco and Santa Barbara. We also have the use of a small satellite ranch in Prunedale, California, where volunteers take care of all the needs of a few Redwings horses. We are dedicated to the well-being of rescued equines, offering them permanent sanctuary. We are also committed to educating the public about abuse, neglect and abandonment issues in hopes of curtailing and eliminating such negative behaviors. Our goal is to promote healthy, safe and rewarding mutual relationships between humans and equines. The office staff takes care of daily operational issues and gives tours to visitors. Our Equine Care Provider is devoted to ensuring the best care possible to our rescued animals. Four ranch hands are responsible for daily feeding of our animals and maintaining the 160 acre facility located in Lockwood. |
