| Description: | The Santa Cruz Chapter of Nursing Mothers Counsel is a non-profit, non-affiliated organization dedicated to supporting the personal breastfeeding goals of all families. Our services are provided by trained volunteer counselors who have also breastfed their own children. NMC volunteer counselors complete a specialized training in the management of common breastfeeding issues. If your needs exceed the scope of our training, we will refer you to an appropriate healthcare provider. Call our number (831-688-3954) to hear a list of volunteer counselors whom you may contact between 9am and 9pm, 7 days a week. Counselors typically provide support via phone or email, but can also come to your home to assist with positioning and latch. All of our services are offered free of charge. |
