Downtown Santa Cruz is a ‘Business Improvement District‘ established to promote commerce and provide an environment compatible with doing business. Business operators in the district contribute an assessment which is allocated by the Downtown Association Board of Directors to further the mission of the Downtown Association. The Board of Directors is comprised of, and elected by, assessed business owners in Downtown Santa Cruz.

The primary function of the Downtown Association is to promote Downtown through events, advertising and other programs as the Board of Directors deem suitable form time to time.

The Downtown Association also advocates for businesses and serves as a representative with government agencies and other organizations when addressing issues specific or pertinent to the Mission of the Downtown Association.
Mission: To provide leadership, in order to create, promote and develop downtown as a vibrant and successful business, entertainment, residential and community center
Meetings: Downtown Association Board Meetings are held from 8:30 am-10:00 am on the third Tuesday of each month (excluding December), at 101 Cooper Street. Meetings are open to all members and participation is greatly encouraged.
