Description: The Beach Flats Community Center & Familia Center are now known as Nueva Vista Community Resources. Here, our compassionate staff build a warm, friendly, safe place for the Santa Cruz community to access resources that offer stability and hope for the future. Nueva Vista Community Resources is part of the Community Bridges family of programs.

Youth Services Center
Open Monday-Friday 9:00am to 1:00pm, 2:00pm to 5:30pm

Programs: Application Assistance:
Help with enrollment and reporting for government services (i.e. Cal-Fresh, unemployment), job applications, housing applications, resume building and more.

Food & Nutrition Services:
Food distributions are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month, from 3pm to 5pm. Here, we offer food tastings and demonstrations, nutrition education, medical home education, and glucose and blood pressure screenings. Anyone is welcome to attend.

Community Advocacy:
We seek to meet the needs of families through bi-lingual, bi-cultural support on both a long and short-term basis. Our drop-in advocacy support aims to help our community access resources and set goals to address issues such as employment rights, landlord/tenant issues, consumer issues and health care access.

Parent Education:
We conduct Triple P (positive parenting program) on an individual basis for parents with youth ages 2 to 15. Please contact us at 831-423-5747 for appointments and class information.

After School Homework Club:
For low-income youth in elementary and middle school. Our elementary group meets Monday through Wednesday, and our middle school group meets Monday through Thursday. Both elementary and middle school groups meet from 3:30 to 5:30pm.

Summer Fun:
Summer recreation for low-income youth (8-16) in collaboration with the O’Neill Sea Odyssey, Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History, and more. Summer Lunch is provided.

Ocean Scholars:
An environmental education program held each Spring Break, fostering stewardship of the Monterey Bay & San Lorenzo River.
