Details
Description: La Manzana Community Resources is a neighborhood and community-based center where families can receive a broad range of direct services, as well as information and referrals to other programs that may be of assistance to their specific needs.
Mission: The mission of La Manzana Community Resources is to connect people to services. Our activities respect all cultures and support families in creating a strong, safe, and healthy community.
Programs: Parent Education:
We offer a variety of parent education classes and one-on-one sessions, including Triple P classes, that address a wide range of topics.

Literacy Program:
We offer classes in Spanish and English literacy, including graduation certificates for elementary and secondary education. Partnering with the Mexican Consulate to offer the Plaza Comunitaria curriculum, literacy classes are taught weekly to participants who have not had an opportunity to learn to read or write in Spanish or English.

Public Benefits Enrollment Assistance:
Our advocates help with enrollment and reporting for government benefits and services (i.e. Cal-Fresh, unemployment, MediCal, CoveredCA). Our advocates can help you select the best healthcare program for you and your family.

Food Distribution:
We partner with Second Harvest Food Bank to provide free supplemental groceries and nutritional awareness to the community.

Summer Lunch:
We serve 14,000 meals during the summer to low-income children in Santa Cruz County as part of the USDA’s Summer Food Service Program. The goal of Summer Lunch is to provide a nutritionally balanced meal to children who may be without lunch while school is out.

Community Advocacy:
We seek to meet the needs of families through bi-lingual, bi-cultural support on both a long and short-term basis.

Counseling:
We partner with professionally pre-licensed clinical counselors to offer free counseling and advocacy to youth, families and individuals. Our services provide support for people to learn and access healthy coping skills, stress management techniques and work on other issues as needed.
