Eclipse
By: Stephenie Meyer

In the third book of the Twilight saga, Bella is surrounded by danger. The Volturi could check on her at any time, Victoria is bent on avenging her lover's death, and now there appears to be a serial killer in nearby Seattle. And then there's her boyfriend and her best friend, each of whom could break her in two if they lost control.
I found this book riveting and immensely sad. How can you possibly choose between the love of your life and your best friend?
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed the earlier books in the series.

New Moon
By: Stephenie Meyer

New Moon is book two in the Twilight saga and it starts with Bella turning 18. This is a big deal for Bella because she's now older than her beloved Edward.
It's hard to understand how 600+ pages of blank all-consuming anguish can hold one's attention, but there you have it. Maybe Bella is clumsy, not a super whiz at math, and less than beautiful, but you can't help feeling her pain. Good writing, Ms. Meyer.
If you liked the first book, you will want to continue learning Bella's story. I would definitely recommend this book for adults and precocious children 13 and older.

Twilight
By: Stephenie Meyer

Bella sacrifices her personal comfort and moves to the Pacific Northwest to live with her father so her mother can be with her new boyfriend. And there, at Bella's new high school, she meets the Cullens.
This is my second time reading the Twilight saga. I first read most of it a few years ago when the books were hot but the movies hadn't yet come out. Back then I felt the writing wasn't as wonderful as that of P. C. and Kristin Cast's House of Night series and I couldn't quite figure out how Bella was a sympathetic character. And yet, I kept reading. I was enthralled by the author's ability to capture irrational, all-consuming, sweet love.
I would definitely recommend Twilight to adults and precocious teens over 13.

Destined
By: P. C. Cast

In the ninth book in the House of Night series, Zoey and her group of fledgelings, vampyres, humans, and other unclassifiables, continue their quest to expose and destroy Neferet.
I love the story and writing style of this mother-daughter team. As we get further and further into the overall story, we're treated to the point of view of more and more characters, an interesting technique for keeping our attention and deepening our understanding of the characters.
I can definitely recommend this book, and the entire series, to adults and precocious teens 13 and older. I find the writing better than that of the Twilight series. The depth of the overall struggle isn't as compelling as in the Harry Potter series, but then again, I haven't found anything else that is either.
