Estate Planning


Legally Speaking is a new free monthly series of discussions with Q & A on various legal and financial life event topics. In the series, Santa Cruz County Bar Association recommended lawyers and finance/business professionals answer questions about the most frequently experienced legal issues faced by people in our community. These discussions will take place at various locations throughout the county on the 2nd Thursday of the month.

Legally Speaking: Estate Planning

Led by Emily Buchbinder, an estate planning and tax attorney in Santa Cruz, this informative session covers one of the most important life event topics. Emily will discuss the basics of probate and trusts, including who needs a trust, benefits of trusts, and the decisions made when creating a trust. She will also discuss assets and property taxes.

Emily is an estate planning and tax attorney and also practices in the area of estate administration, probate, taxation, and business law. She is the Chairperson of the Santa Cruz County Bar Estate Planning Council. She serves on the Board of the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County and the Santa Cruz Cancer Benefit Group.
