Citizen Science: Environteers

SCPL News

We can all have an impact on preserving our natural resources. This month, Citizen Science invites you to learn about ways to do just that. Led by Andy Carman of Environteers, a local group dedicated to promoting environmental organizations in Santa Cruz County and connecting people with volunteer opportunities, our discussion will also give participants a chance to talk about their favorite project.

We will also have a member of the Citizens’ Climate Lobby tell us more about their latest work towards the passage of the Carbon Fee and Dividend initiative.

Thursday October 5th • 6:30 - 8:00pm
Downtown Library • 224 Church St.

Presenter Andy Carman is Chief Instigator of Environteers, is a psychologist, and is committed to full participation in restoring our environment and global reforestation to help reverse climate change.

Citizen Science is a collaboration between the Santa Cruz Public Libraries; the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History (SCMNH), the Santa Cruz Children's Museum of Discovery (SCCMOD) and the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC).

We invite you to join us every first Thursday of the month for a presentation and Q&A with local experts and researchers in the field discussing life science, ecology, geology, genetics, climatology and more. Let’s connect, inspire and inform each other!
