NaNoWriMo is the most fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing! National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is an annual challenge during the month of November to write the first draft of a 50,000 word novel. To help facilitate the creative process, Santa Cruz Public Libraries is hosting Come Write-Ins at most of our branches throughout the county. Here you'll be able to share your ideas, stories, and support other writers in their quest for 50,000 words.

We've had a Meet & Greet and a Kickoff Event with author Shelly King, who wrote her first novel, The Moment of Everything, during a NaNoWriMo! The book, about a Silicon Valley Techie who joins a book club for networking and finds an ancient hardcover edition of Lady Chatterly's Lover with notes in the margins between two besotted lovers of long ago, is a real treat for local book lovers.

Two additional author talls are coming up in mid-November.
