Paws to Read 2014

Woof, wag, stomp, yowl and howl for a summer of fun!

Join us for great reads, performances, workshops and more all loosely organized around the theme of animals! Make a catnip treat, an animal photo collage, chase some bubbles and watch a cowgirl in action. Consider reading aloud to a furry friend, and bring your favorite stuffed animal to a library sleepover. Check out our themed reading list, too!

Theme or no theme, the summer reading program is all about reading what you love and loving what you read! Choose whichever books interest you, from your home library, other libraries or elsewhere. Begin reading as soon as school is out. Encourage an older child to read to a younger for both to earn incentives! Check our calendar of events -- workshops requiring pre-registration will be open for sign-ups starting June 9th.

Summer reading isn't just for kids. There are options for everyone:

Studies show just 5 books read over the summer can prevent "learning loss." Sign-ups begin June 9th for ages 0-18. Get a reading log and track your summer reading time for the chance to earn Book-Bucks that can be spent at participating shops.
