In January 2011, our new literacy program, Tales to Tails, will launch. Children can sign up for a private twenty-minute slot to read to an attentive certified therapy dog.

Tales to Tails will launch at the Capitola Branch Library on Wednesday, January 19. Children can sign up for a reading slot that day from 3-5pm or sign up for a slot on Saturday, February 5 between 9:30am-10:30am. The program will continue on the THIRD Wednesday of the month and the FIRST Saturday of the month at the Capitola Branch.

Santa Cruz Public Libraries' Holiday Wish List

Santa Cruz Public Libraries have put together our Holiday Wish List for 2010. If you'd like to help out the library, consider helping us expand and refurbish our book discussion kit collection!

Book discussion kits are available for check out at the library. Each kit has 5-12 copies of a title and a discussion guide. More information about book kits can be found in the Reader's Link.

The library is encouraging those who'd like to show their support to purchase book discussion kit items or gift cards at these local bookstores: Bookshop Santa Cruz, Capitola Book Cafe, and Bookworks in Aptos.

See our flyer for more information and a list of needed titles.
