Description: The UC Santa Cruz Arboretum & Botanic Garden is a research and teaching facility committed to plant conservation and serves both the campus and the public. Its rich and diverse collection, containing representatives of more than 300 plant families, provides beginning students with a broad survey of the plant kingdom. Facilities for growing plants offer students and research faculty opportunities to experiment with living plants. The Garden maintains collections of rare and threatened plants of unusual scientific interest. Particular specialties are world conifers, primitive angiosperms, and bulb-forming plant families.

Admission: $5 for Adults and $2 for Children (6 to 17 years old), and free under 6.
Programs: Facilities for growing plants offer students and research faculty opportunities to experiment with living plants. The Arboretum maintains collections of rare and threatened plants of unusual scientific interest.

Arboretum events educate and engage the public about plant diversity and conservation. Many of the Arboretum's activities and programs are described in the Bulletin.
Facilities: The UC Santa Cruz Arboretum comprises approximately 100 acres of gardens and research areas on the University of California Santa Cruz campus. It offers a somewhat rustic setting for weddings and other special events. See the web page for details.
