Description: Provides a 24-hour emergency response when a sexual assault is reported to any law enforcement agency. Provides medical/legal examination, forensic evidence collection, advocacy and information and referral for concerns related to the assault. Purpose: To collect high quality evidence with minimal impact on the victim. If law enforcement decides there may be evidence on the survivor's body, s/he will be asked permission to perform an evidence collection exam--at this point the SART team is activated.

ELIGIBILITY: Any law enforcement agency in the county may implement the team. Patients are not seen on self-referrals, but must have reported an alleged sexual assault to a law enforcement agency. Serves women, men, boys and girls who have survived a sexual assault.
