Details
Description: Warming Center Program ensures that no one has to sleep outside on the worst nights of winter.

There are far too few traditional shelter beds and not everyone can access them when and where they need to. On nights of extreme temperature and rain, we create the opportunity for everyone who needs it, to seek warm, clean, safe and dignifying shelter.

The program activates when temperature forecasts reach these levels:
38 (Santa Cruz), 36 (Watsonville) applied liberally and altered upward
Extreme rain events (forecast of 1.0" one day; 0.75" in each of two days; 0.5" in each of three days)
Volunteer Info: The Warming Center Program is a volunteer based, community funded program. We're only able to provide the level of service equal to the amount of community support that we get. Please contact if you would like to volunteer with us.
