Unplug for a few hours to play new and exciting tabletop (board, card, or dice) games. These aren’t your grandparents’ board games! Games like Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, and Exploding Kittens along with many others will be available. This is a program for adults only (ages 21+). Sponsored by Friends of the Scotts Valley Library and Epic Adventure Games. First and Third Wednesdays of each month.

SCPL is partnering with the Children's Museum of Discovery (MOD), The Natural History Museum and UCSC to present a science series for adults. Meetings will be held on the 1st Thursday of every month at 6:30pm at one of the branch libraries.
Note: Supermassive Black Holes: the most powerful objects in the universe, with Dr. Martin Gaskell from UCSC. Join us to round off an Out-of-this-world day!

Willing Suspension Armchair Theater (WSAT) presents ANTIQUE SILVER, readings about those who are old and how they are a storehouse of wisdom forged by experience. We will share stories and insights that offer another way of seeing and interpreting reality. Co-Directed by Donald Grube and Patricia Hernan Grube, the readers are Ellie Van Houten, Virginia Henry, Karen Schamberg, Steve Grube, Donald Grube, and Patricia Hernan Grube, who compiled this one-hour presentation.

A new book discussion group has formed at the Scotts Valley Library, The Genre Book Club. A different genre will be discussed at each meeting.. The group meets from 7:00pm-8:30pm in the Fireside Meeting Room on the last Thursday of each month. The Scotts Valley Friends of the Library are sponsoring this group. Note: Epistolary - books written in the form of letters - is the theme for May.
