FREE coffee, FREE talk; social support and information services for all. This program is designed to serve people experiencing homelessness, however it is an open space for all. Please join us in front of the downtown branch library (at the benches on the corner of Church St. and Center St.) every Thursday morning (except major holidays) for a free cup of coffee and the chance to talk, vent, brainstorm and connect with friends, neighbors and service providers. If you so choose, sign-up for Working Together, and work with an individual information advocate one-on-one to help you tackle an information issue, obstacle or problem of your choice.

Same day sign-ups during Coffee Talk in front of the Downtown branch library at the corner Church St. & Center St. Connect with Kris Younggren, our Downtown Outreach Worker, make a free phone call, access free printing and scanning, receive help with establishing an email account, performing a housing search, creating a resume, applying for a lifeline telephone and more.

In a library very nearby, young people will go on an adventure, exploring possibilities to be found, dodging stormtroopers and Mandalorian bounty hunters along the way. Beware Vader's Fist! Members of the Golden Gate Garrison 501st Legion of costumed volunteers will be invading the downtown library and Atlantis Fantasyworld on Star Wars Day. Come down to the library for STEAM activities, get a look at our Star Wars LEGO display and search for the missing Jedi Master Kevin. all the while dodging stormtroopers and Mandalorian bounty hunters along the way. Cosplay (dressing as Star Wars characters) is encouraged!

A flexible club bringing together a community of young people with mentors and a space to make. Participants work together to design, create, and ultimately exhibit a youth-chosen project , aimed towards exhibiting at a showcase event like Maker Faire. The club is lead by Sasha, a young maker mentor, who has been on panels at Intel, Pearson Learning, Pixar and Bay Area Maker Faire, and Young Makers. She has won awards at Synopsys Silicon Valley Science and Technology Championship and Santa Cruz County Science & Engineering Fair. She was recently published in National Geographic Magazine January 2017 issue. The group the 4th Sunday of each month.
