Run
By: Ann Patchett

A very satisfying read, a page-turner, great for the plane or beach if you are looking for a summer read. Patchett is a well known author; "Bel Canto", "Patron St. of Liars", and most recently "State of Wonder". The setting for this novel is a cold winter in Boston, where the readers meet Doyle, a father raising three sons. Doyle, a former mayor of Boston, has aspirations that one of his sons will be interested in politics and run for president someday. A car accident occurs early in the book, that changes the lives of this family and others. The characters are compelling, well drawn, you know them and care about them.
