Destined
By: P. C. Cast

In the ninth book in the House of Night series, Zoey and her group of fledgelings, vampyres, humans, and other unclassifiables, continue their quest to expose and destroy Neferet. I love the story and writing style of this mother-daughter team. As we get further and further into the overall story, we're treated to the point of view of more and more characters, an interesting technique for keeping our attention and deepening our understanding of the characters. I can definitely recommend this book, and the entire series, to adults and precocious teens 13 and older. I find the writing better than that of the Twilight series. The depth of the overall struggle isn't as compelling as in the Harry Potter series, but then again, I haven't found anything else that is either.
