The Library staff offers help getting the answers to information and reference questions at all branches. The Central Branch serves as the System reference headquarters. Through a system of reference referral, questions which cannot be answered are sent to the System Reference Center of PLS (Peninsula Library System) for further research. There is no charge for this service.

The Central Branch Reference Desk offers access to various databases on CD-ROM. The Aptos and Central Branches both have particularly strong consumer information and business reference collections.

The Library staff can answer short reference questions over the telephone. For Telephone Reference service call 420-5730 M-Th 10am-8pm, F-Sa 10am-5pm.
