What's Here | Organization | Finding Websites
Reference Websites is a collection of Internet sites that the Library Reference staff uses to answer short, factual questions. It includes a wide variety of subjects. For example:
While the Library believes that the included Websites are reliable, it does not take responsibility for nor guarantee the accuracy of the content on any of the sites.
Websites are organized by categories. The categories are based on the Dewey Decimal Classification system which is commonly used to organize items in U.S. public libraries.
There are two ways to find Websites:
To browse, start with the category menu on the opening screen. Select one of the broad categories. Each broad category is divided into sub-categories. Most of the time, when you select a sub-category, a list of links will be displayed. Sometimes, another list of categories will be displayed. Each link is annotated. The annotation usually indicates who is responsible for the content of the site, what it contains, and how it can be searched.
The second way to find Websites is to use the keyword search feature. Type a word or words in the form. The search engine will search for your word in the link to the Website, the category, and the annotation.
