The Computer Lab at the Watsonville Public Library has computers available for public use during library open hours. The computers at the Watsonville library and at the Freedom branch provide Internet access and word processing. You must have a Watsonville library card to use any of these computers. You may call the library at 728-6040 (ask for the Reference Desk) to check availability.
The Virtual Typewriter enables you to use a computer as a word processor or typewriter. Please read all of the use and help instructions carefully. It can be very easy to lose your work. Use of the Virtual Word Processor/Typewriter is at your own risk. If you are at a facility that charges for time or printing, you may have to pay even if your work is lost or unsatisfactory. There is no reimbursement. Look at the "demo" and be sure to use Print Preview.
Google Docs & Spreadsheets is a web-based word processing and spreadsheet program. Save your documents online, or download to a computer. You must create a Google Account to access Google Docs & Spreadsheets.
The Santa Cruz County Law Library: 701 Ocean St., Room 070, Santa Cruz, 457-2525, has a word processor available to the public at no charge. The cost to print is 15¢ per page. It is for the preparation of legal documents only. There are no reservations. The Library is open M-F, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Workforce Santa Cruz County, a service of the Human Resources Agency of Santa Cruz County, has two locations that provide computer labs for employment-related needs, e.g., resume preparation, job applications, etc. The labs are located at: 2045 40th Ave., Capitola, 464-6286; 18 West Beach St., Watsonville, 763-8700. You may call the labs for hours and more information.
