The Salvation Army operates a Family Tracing Service (also
known as a Missing Persons Service) in more than 100 countries
throughout the world. This service is available to the public. These
are the basic guidelines:
- Inquire only about near relatives. The organization does not
search for missing or runaway children (under 18), wartime buddies, old friends,
neighbors, cases involving adoption, custody disputes, estates, debts or other legal matters, etc.
- The person must have been missing more than six months.
- Inquirer must be able to provide essential information about
the missing person.
- "The Salvation Army reserves the right to accept or reject an application or to assign a priority to any given request based on reasonableness, feasibility and motive."
- The inquirer must send a $25.00 nonrefundable application fee.
