Disciplinary Actions Against, License Verification of Medical Professionals

To find out whether a medical doctor has had disciplinary action taken against him or her in the past, or to find out whether a medical license is valid, visit the Medical Board's Physician License Information page at http://www.mbc.ca.gov/Lookup.htm or call (916) 263-2382. Callers are not asked to identify themselves. You will need to provide as much information as you can about the physician, including his or her full name, office address and the city or town where the doctor practices. Only three names may be verified per call.

To verify the license of a Marriage and Family Therapist, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Licensed Educational Psychologist or other professional licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, or to check disciplinary actions against any of these professionals, visit BBS Verify Licenses at http://www.bbs.ca.gov/quick_links/weblookup.shtml. You may search by name, license number and/or location.
