Unabomber

"The Unabomber name comes from "un" which stands for "universities" and the "a" from airlines. The serial bomber's first 10 attacks all involved either universities or airlines, so the FBI dubbed the case "Unabomb." Of the 16 bombings, nine targeted univerisites or professors--Northwestern, Univeristy of Utah, Vanderbilt, UC-Berkeley, University of Michigan, UC-San Francisco and Yale. Two involed airlines, American and United, and one was sent to Boeing Co., the airplane manufacturer. The other four targeted two computer stores, a New York advertising executive and the California Forestry Association."
