Mount Umunhum

Mount Umunhum, with an elevation of 3486 feet, is located in Santa Clara County.
The origin of the name is probably Costanoan but the meaning is unknown. It is suggested that the name may mean "resting place of the hummingbird" as u'mun, umanu, and umuni are recorded as meaning "hummingbird" in southern Costanoan. In Santa Clara Indian mythology the hummingbird, the coyote and the eagle are the creators of the world.
