Every year an American will have to work a certain number of days to pay his/her total tax bill. The day after that time period is called Tax Freedom Day. The Tax Foundation calculates this time period annually for the "average American". The methods used by the Tax Foundation are critiqued by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorites.
