For ordinances concerning nudity on city beaches, contact the city police department. For county beaches, call the sheriff's office. For nudity laws of state parks, check with the state parks system.
A partial list of nude beaches north of the City of Santa Cruz:
Four Mile Beach - Actually 3.6 miles (not 4 miles) north of the Santa Cruz city limits on Highway One. The beach is about a quarter of a mile walk from highway.
Red, White and Blue Beach - charges admission. About five miles north of the city limits on Highway One is an oversized red, white and blue mailbox marked 5021 on the west side of the highway, turn left onto Scaroni Road and pay at the gate for day or overnight camping fees.
Laguna Creek Beach - is about one mile north from the Red, White and Blue entrance. Look for the dirt road that veers to the right, from there follow the path on the north side of Laguna Creek down the hill to the beach.
Panther Beach - is a little more than 10 miles north of Santa Cruz off a dirt road that veers to the left of Highway One. From the highway follow the path to the ocean.
Bonny Doon Beach - is located about 11 miles north of Santa Cruz at the intersection of Highway One and Bonny Doon Road. Park on Bonny Doon Road, cross the highway and follow the path to the beach.
Davenport Cove - is also known Shark's Tooth Cove. It is located a 1/2 mile south of the main beach in Davenport. Park at the main beach parking area and hike down from the trail that starts at the railroad tracks or stop just south of Davenport on Highway One and hike down to the beach.
