Dial-up Access to Infocruz

Infocruz is the Library's online catalog and other databases. Dial-up access is generally available from 4am to midnight, seven days a week. The dial-up number is 420-6300.

System Requirements:

Communications Settings:

There are many software communications packages that provide these settings. Library staff is unable to trouble-shoot your software or hardware problems; if you are having problems, first check your settings and then contact your software vendor.

When You Dial In:

  1. When you are connected, press the return/enter key two or three times.
  2. You will be asked if you want to see the branch hours.
  3. You will be asked if you want to place requests/holds on Library items. If you do, you then choose where you want to pick- up your requests. No matter which branch you choose the computer will show you items at all branch sites.
  4. The next screen is first screen of the Library's online catalog. You can now search for library books and other items. If you want to search for magazine articles or community groups, type D and press the return/enter key; choose another database.

To Change Databases:

In author/title/subject searching mode:
Type D and press the return/enter key; choose another database.

In keyword searching mode:
Exit keyword by typing stop and press the return/enter key; then type D and the return/enter key; choose another database.

How to Search:

Instructions for searching are available online at any time by pressing ??.

To Disconnect:

Type EXIT whenever you want to get out of a database. The command EXIT allows you to return to the initial screen and to log off the computer catalog at any time.
