You Can Do That @ the Library?!

Share Your Story

Join a community project, "We Have Stories To Tell" which unites children with family members, senior citizens and library staff to encourage the development of literacy skills through story telling. Children have the opportunity to make their own books in which they portray the story they are telling with illustrations of their own design.

These amazing animals inspired the creation of the Endangered Species Act of 1973. With the population dropping to an all time low of 22 individuals in 1982, there are now over 400, with more than half of them flying free in California, Arizona, and Baja Norte, Mexico. The captive breeding program has slowed as chicks are now being born and raised in the wild, however the species is still struggling for survival in the face of dangers such as lead poisoning.

The Ventana Wildlife Society is the only non-profit in California involved in the restoration of the California condor. Find out more at www.ventanaws.org.
