You Can Do That @ the Library?!

Join a community project, "We Have Stories To Tell" which unites children with family members, senior citizens and library staff to encourage the development of literacy skills through story telling. Children have the opportunity to make their own books in which they portray the story they are telling with illustrations of their own design.

Libraries Inside Out 2013
More than 250 people have participated in this year's Libraries Inside Out project by submitting their art/poetry/musings about HOME. Join us this Friday, August 2nd, at 5:30pm at the Downtown Branch to see their work. You'll have a chance to hear more about the project, meet artist Bridget Henry, and get a close look at the way community response influenced the images that Bridget created.
Following on the success of 2012's photography installation, "YOU", City Arts, SCPL, MAH and Friends of SCPL collaborated to bring us another round of this popular Public Art project. Local Printmaker Bridget Henry won the Commission for 2013's Libraries Inside Out for her project "HOME".
If you can't make it to the gala, swing by the Downtown Branch anytime to see the woodcut prints on the outside of the building. "The Faces of the Library," our latest 3-month exhibit inside the building, can be viewed during open hours.
