You Can Do That @ the Library?!
Share Your Story
Join a community project, "We Have Stories To Tell" which unites children with family members, senior citizens and library staff to encourage the development of literacy skills through story telling. Children have the opportunity to make their own books in which they portray the story they are telling with illustrations of their own design.

Scotts Valley Branch: Art and Outdoors
The Scotts Valley Library’s ‘Art in the Library’ program is busy with preparations to showcase eight local, diverse, well-traveled photographers in its next installation. The ‘My Favorite Photos’ exhibit will hang in the Scotts Valley Library from August 17 through November 2. Visit the FSVPL for more information about the artists.
The public is invited to meet the photographers on Saturday, August 24 at a reception hosted by local State Farm Agent Laureen Yungmeyer from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the Scotts Valley Library, 251 Kings Village Rd. in Scotts Valley. There will be music entertainment and refreshments will be served.
While you're there, make time to visit the new patio area! The patio landscaping has been lauded with a Beautification Award in the Public Works Project category from the Central Coast Chapter of the California Landscapers Contractors Association (CLCA), and is open and ready for use.
FSVPL is continuing efforts to complete the patio with additional furniture. There are great sponsorship opportunities for individuals and business looking to help, including engraved leaves and planks, sponsored furniture and annual naming rights to the patio. Sponsorship information can be found on the FSVPL website.
Beginning this Sunday, August 11, we'll have twice as many computer coaching hours available! Volunteer-led computer coaching will be available on the 1st through 4th Sunday of every month at the Downtown Branch from 1-4:30 pm.
What is computer coaching? It's a great way to get familiar with tech basics. Our volunteer computer wizard will help you navigate such unfamiliar territory as how to set up an email account, create passwords, search the internet, complete online applications and more.
Computer coaching sessions are available by appointment. Sign-up sheets for 30-minute sessions will be available at the Reference Desk.
