Advocate for California Libraries
It's National Library Week -- a great time to write your legislators and let them know how important libraries are to you and about the positive difference libraries make in your community.
Support is important because state governments provide much needed funding for libraries, so they can continue making available all the resources they do (e.g., books, public access to the Internet, homework assistance). Although libraries continue to be busier than ever, many struggle to maintain budgets, staff, and resources. The California Library Association has provided an easy way to write your elected officials to let them know how much you value the libraries in your community. Your message will make a difference!
Food for Fines
The Santa Cruz Public Libraries are celebrating National Library Week with our popular Food for Fines event. For each dollar or non-perishable food item donated to to Second Harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz County, the library will forgive $1.00 worth of overdue fines, up to $20.
Food for Fines runs through April 20th -- make sure to get your donation receipt or food items to the library by Saturday! For more information, visit our Food for Fines Event page.
