Santa Cruz Public Libraries Joins Discover & Go Network

SCPL News

The Santa Cruz Public Libraries have joined with 19 Northern California public library systems to offer downloadable museum passes through the Discover & Go Network.

As part of the Discover & Go Network, SCPL cardholders have access to free and discounted passes to 30 Bay Area museums and cultural institutions including Aquarium of the Bay, Bay Area Discovery Museum, Bedford Gallery, Cartoon Art Museum, Exploratorium, Lawrence Hall of Science, Lindsay Wildlife Museum, San Jose Museum of Art, Tech Museum of Innovation, and many more. New venues are added all the time as additional partners join the network.

SCPL cardholders obtain the passes through an easy-to-use online site where they can simply browse for the venues they want to visit, select the dates they want to visit, reserve passes, and print them. Go to discover.santacruzpl.org or to the Library’s website and select the "Services" tab. Patrons without Internet access can reserve a pass by visiting any branch of the Santa Cruz Public Libraries.

Funds to develop Discover & Go were provided by a $45,000 Bay Area Library Information System (BALIS) technology grant. The program was developed by Contra Costa County Library and Denver-based Quipu Group (quipugroup.com), a library-specific software development and consulting company. A mobile version of Discover & Go is also available to Network member libraries.
