SCPL Celebrates 3 Awards!
Heather Norquist - 2011 Barbara Bricmont Award
Youth Services Librarian, Heather Norquist, has been awarded the 2011 Barbara Bricmont award by the Santa Cruz County Reading Association. The award is given to "librarians in our community who go above and beyond to offer literacy services to young children." We are very proud of the work Heather does for families in Live Oak.
Linda White - 2011 Community Award
Retired Library storyteller, Linda White, has been awarded the 2011 Community Award by the Santa Cruz County Reading Association. Linda continues to tell stories at Branciforte, Central, and Garfield Park Branches as a volunteer and Linda is being honored for her joyful service to families in her community. SCPL is forever proud to count Linda as one of our own.
SCPL - 2011 Organizational Ally to Queer Youth Award
SCPL is honored and humbled to accept the 2011 Organizational Ally to Queer Youth Award. At the banquet on May 14, we were in the presence of inspiring and amazing young people and pledge to strive every day to be the safe and positive place all our SC County young people deserve.
