You Can Do That @ the Library?!
Share Your Story
Join a community project, "We Have Stories To Tell" which unites children with family members, senior citizens and library staff to encourage the development of literacy skills through story telling. Children have the opportunity to make their own books in which they portray the story they are telling with illustrations of their own design.

Just getting started with computers and feeling lost? Looking for how to take advantage of what the internet has to offer? Take a look at our Computer and Internet Tutorials subject guide.
Subject Guides are a great resource for anybody interested in learning more about a particular topic. They provide step-by-step instructions and point you to a wide variety of sources that you might not find on your own. These might include books, websites, online databases, local documents, phone numbers, and more &mdash all gathered in one convenient location. There are a variety of subject guides available, all created by reference librarians at the Santa Cruz Public Libraries.

Aptos Branch Library Closed August 15-18
The Aptos Branch Library of the Santa Cruz Public Libraries will be closed from Monday, August 15 through Thursday, August 18, 2011 for mold removal. The branch plans to reopen on Saturday, August 20 at 11am.
Requests being held at Aptos during the closure will have their pick-up times extended by one week.
There is no danger to the public or to staff now or in the future, but the removal process is very disruptive and requires library materials and computers to be covered and unavailable.
The Capitola and Live Oak Branches will have extended hours August 15-18. Both branches will be open 11am-7pm Monday through Thursday with regular branch staff supplemented by Aptos Branch staff.
For further information, please call (831) 427-7706.
