Remembering the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake
We've added a new album to the Local History Photograph Collection to commemorate the 20 year anniversary of the Loma Prieta earthquake. The album contains images taken of Santa Cruz shortly after the earthquake, portraying the destruction and recovery of the downtown area.

Bliss Fundraiser a Success!
Bliss Salon in Aptos raised $1065 on Saturday, November 14 for the Friends of the Santa Cruz Public Library System Book & Media Fund. One hundred percent of the proceeds from all Salon services that day were donated to buy library materials.
Ben Rush, the owner of Bliss, and his staff provided refreshments, fabulous services, and a party atmosphere as they worked hard all day. "We had a great time, and I feel really good about it," said Ben. "It's all good!"
