A Library Card for Every Child in Santa Cruz County

The Santa Cruz Public Libraries has removed the age requirement for receiving a library card. A child of ANY age can now have a little blue card to check out books, movies, and recorded stories...yes, even toddlers! Plan on making a holiday visit to the Library soon to surprise the little one in your family.

The Central Branch Youth Services staff will gift wrap library cards during the holiday season. For a festive look for your child's first library card, visit the Central Branch Library at 224 Church Street in Santa Cruz by December 17, 2009.

The Library is collaborating with families and schools in many ways to encourage children to have library cards and to use them. Read more about our partnerships using the link below.
