Implementation Specialist
The SEIU UHW-WEST & Joint Employer Educational Fund, a Labor-Management Fund organized to provide educational and training opportunities for healthcare workers, has a position available for an Implementation Specialist to carry out vital outreach and recruitment responsibilities and implement education and training programs. This is a salaried position located in our Oakland office and reporting to the Assistant Director.
The Implementation Specialist plans, develops, and coordinates the implementation of education and training programs for healthcare workers represented by SEIU UHW - West and other union employees who are eligible for Education Fund services. The person in this position will spend a significant amount of weekly time performing one-on-one and small group outreach and recruiting program participants at various healthcare facilities in Northern California. He or she will also follow through on program logistics with educational providers and training vendors, develop marketing and recruitment materials screen applicants for basic eligibility, process participant payment requests, , collect and analyze data.
The Implementation Specialist will work as a team member with educational, employer and union partners, as well as other staff of the Education Fund, to recruit new and ongoing program participants and implement effective training programs. This position may be asked to update the Education Fund staff and union members on program developments. This position will be required to travel to training and worksite locations throughout various areas in Northern California, including occasional overnight trips.
Minimum of one year’s experience performing outreach and recruitment and planning and implementing educational or training programs is required. Experience working within a union and/or healthcare environment preferred. Must be committed to working within a labor/management environment. Candidates must be proficient in the use of basic office software (Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint in a Windows environment). Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required; bilingual skills very strongly preferred. Candidates must also possess excellent organizational and relationship building skills. A car, California driver’s license and car insurance are also required.
