Position Description

Title: Work Study Intern

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Location: Accounting

Introduction:
The Accounting Department is responsible for processing the financial transactions of the organization in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and as regulated by the Department of Labor.  In addition to the general accounting functions of budget, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, the accounting department also provides services to the membership including producing quarterly and yearly dues statements, new applicant processing, registering offshore members, and membership database maintenance.

The incumbent works under the supervision of the International Comptroller and is responsible for various administrative duties as outlined below.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
• Receives and distributes incoming mail to staff members in the accounting department.

• Updates member database with address corrections and send address change authorization forms to members for all return mail with forwarding address.

• File membership documentation according to file system.

• Prepares ballots by using in-house barcode system to print envelopes and assembles and stuffs ballots.   Assist with in-house ballot counts as needed. 

• Retrieve monthly postage usage statistics from internet and distributes to staff.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Skills:
• Proficiency with Microsoft office. 

• Ability to use the internet.

Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Completion of some Bachelor of Science level course work.

• Pre-employment background screening.

 

This position is better suited for a student.  While the hours will be full time during the summer, they will be cut back to about 21 hours per week in the Fall.  It pays $12.00/hour with free parking and free lunch.
