Job Opportunity for Strategic Campaigner
The Teamsters’ Strategic Research & Campaigns Department develops innovative strategies and campaigns to help win justice and better treatment for workers. Teamster strategic campaigns are on the cutting edge of America’s fight for workers’ rights.
We are looking for a Strategic Campaigner to formulate strategies and implement tactics to advance industry-wide and company-wide campaigns in new member organizing, key bargaining agreement, first contracts, and company attempts to close facilities or contract out Teamster work.
Position
The Strategic Campaigner assists in implementing strategies and tactics for all types of campaigns aimed at persuading key employers and leveraging positive results. The Strategic Campaigner will work with International, Divisional, Local Union and Joint Council staff, leaders and members to implement appropriate campaign strategies and tactics. The Strategic Campaigner will be responsible for building coalitions, onsite research, report and leaflet writing and member participation.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• One to three years experience in a strategic campaign environment required.
• One or more years work experience in a labor union preferred.
Applicants for the Strategic Campaigner position must also have experience in union organizing, community or other social justice organizing aimed at corporations. A strong commitment to the goals and values of the labor movement is essential. Ability to travel is required.
Salary is commensurate with experience, with excellent benefits package included.
