VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

ORGANIZER

An Organizer position is available in the National Treasury Employees Union’s (NTEU) Field Operations and Organizing Department, Washington, DC. 

The position requires designing and implementing successful representation election campaigns, which includes: potential unit identification; identification and development of internal organizing committees; issue identification and development, as well as, campaign strategy and development; developing effective campaign themes and messages; GOTV efforts; etc.  The position may also require the incumbent to design and implement post-election efforts that build membership, increase employee involvement, further develop local leaders, and build newly chartered NTEU chapters. 

Candidates must have the following qualifications:  excellent written and oral communication skills; initiative; and the ability to work with minimal supervision.  Experience in organization building; labor or other community organizing; public speaking; and, teaching is highly preferable.  Travel is required.
