 Organizing Directors

O'Keefe Search is a recruiting firm specializing in work for unions and social justice organizations.  We are seeking candidates for a number of Organizing Director positions:
 

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
• Work as part of the union’s senior leadership team to develop strategic organizing plans and implement those plans.
• Identify and assess potential organizing targets.
• Work with other internal departments to implement comprehensive campaign components.
• Work to acquire any additional resources needed to implement organizing drives.
• Manage the annual organizing budget.
• Hire, train, support and oversee Organizers, Researchers and Administrative Support staff in the External Organizing Department.
• Deepen the union’s commitment to organizing
• Manage multiple campaigns and projects simultaneously

Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience
Experience directing staff and activities
• Knowledge of strategic organizing methodology
• 5+ years External Organizing experience
• Travel will be required.

Requirements:
• Experience with various campaigns including ballot initiatives and contract campaigns as well as new organizing drives desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong commitment to union members
• Bilingual competency desirable.
• Work long, varied hours including nights, weekends and holidays
